Electric Guest

Pop duo Electric Guest summarizes their bouncy new album, Plural, better than I ever could. Straight from their website:

Today our second album Plural comes out. We wrote an entirely different record but scrapped it a year & a half ago & began again. It’s taken a long time but we’d rather go the long way then the wrong way. From the bottom of our hearts we hope it resonates with you and that it lifts you up in some way. If you’re in a joyful place, we hope it increases your joy, if you’re in the dark, the music is meant to stay with you until hard times pass. We appreciate every one of you that have supported us over the years. You’re the thing that keeps us making music. We love you all & hope you feel it. I first fell in love with Electric Guest’s music because of the fun indie beat + piano combo featured in their stellar 2012 track ‘This Head I Hold’. Initially I struggled to find that same sound in this new music; but after a week of nonstop listening, it’s clear that Plural holds its own, maturing & expanding the band’s original sound. ‘Dear to Me’ features the lovely vocals of Haim, while ‘Oh Devil’ includes a pinch of reggae thrown in for good measure. Enjoy!
